YANA is a trio of respected improvisers, creating open, living music. After ten years playing together, their music flows with a magical ease, providing accessibility in fantastic grooves and improvised melodies.
The trio has developed a process entirely focused on creating highly expressive live music, a free-wheeling, spontaneous mixture of styles. How it all works is not altogether clear, but the process is always fascinating to hear, and the results are often truly moving.
YANA are:
Joshua Blackmore - drums
Corey Mwamba - vibraphone
Dave Kane - double bass
We are delighted that YANA have chosen this occasion to launch their new CD, baby/people, released on Two Rivers Records.
'This is the sound of three minds working together in a utopian zone, way beyond the individual ego, and producing something quite beautiful in the process.' - Jazzwise
'The intuitive understanding shared by all three musicians is paramount in creating this very attractive musical world. Engaging and evocative music.' - All About Jazz
YANA's previous releases are available on Bandcamp.
