Winner of the BBC Young Jazz Musician 2024, bass player Ursula Harrison and vocalist Sylvie Noble first met on the vibrant South Wales jazz scene, bonding over a shared love of both folk and jazz music. Recording their debut album, New Eve in summer 2025, this year has seen them embrace a collective approach to storytelling, both bringing original compositions and lyrics to the project.
Playing their original music, standard and contemporary jazz repertoire and folk tunes, their sound combines deep earthy grooves, light dancing melodies and powerful swing. The duo incorporates an explorative and fearless approach to improvisation into all they create, making each live performance a true conversation. New Eve is due for release in April 2026.
